Last run of the year...Thanks 2010

No better way to end 2010 than with a nice run…the temp was great, it was just getting dark and its Friday!!

As I was running I thought about 2010 and my accomplishments this year…I know I could have become much stronger but what I have achieved I guess I am pretty happy…I finally made it to my 21k this year and came to terms that I was worth improving myself as a result of my hard work…sometimes I felt like i was banging my head against the wall…but no longer….topped off the year with a bang!

This year my mileage was 838 k’s and 130 runs..Not the best but based on depleted mileage due to itband injury and 6 weeks off due to surgery…I can’t complain…I hope in 2011 to run 1000 k and bike just over 900k….I will strive to do more, but I didn’t want to set myself up and then fall…we’ll see…Oh and getting up the mountain on my bike in just one try would be awesome! Adding up the mileage on my runners...looks like 400 miles...a hole on the inside...need a new pair very soon!

So many things to look forward to for 2011…I will be ordering my bike and garmin in the near future….and the training begins….Sorry to say, I can’t wait until Spring.

Happy 2011!!! Write it down, make it happen!

Ahh Yoga

Thought today I should be running seeing it's my birthday, would have been a nice way to celebrate, but I ran yesterday soooo…..yoga it is! Tonight one hour of yoga…1/2 hour of standing poses, 1/2 hour of hip openers… two areas that i need help…strength in the legs and flexibility in the hips….sure felt it…hesitated when it came to 1/2 boat pose, but I was able to do it without any problems…

I love the things in life that make me feel unbelievably great..running, biking and yoga….amazing!

Yoga... feeling calm, refreshed, at peace.. and so much more….as Rodney Yee would say ”Namaste...Thank You"

Running Against The Wind

Another little increase on the pavement…felt amazing!

The roads in town today were slick for running…with my music to my ears I could still hear the crunch of the snow under my feet…A beautiful day for a run, the sun reflecting off the water, nothing like running outside and absorbing all the beautiful things that we take for granted so often…another reason why I run…to just get out there and appreciate things that we don’t take the time to enjoy because we are always so busy.

As I was running up front street, I was running against the wind…The song sung by Bob Seger came to mind….Running Against The Wind…I was living to run and running to live….I’m older now and still running against the wind.

Running has definitely become a big part of me, it’s who I am…Feels awesome to get out there and just run!

Enjoy your day

Running The Belt

I was going to run outside today but the weather turned bad and the visibility was not very good, so I thought I better use some wisdom and run inside….

Running on the belt is not my most favorite thing to do…stuck inside in a hot room…but it’s better than sitting on the couch…I really needed to run off some of the extra food I have been consuming….I’ve started my training plan again and today it said run…so I must run.

I decide to run 10k…I know it probably wasn’t the wisest thing to do pushing that far…but I feel that running on the treadmill is much easier physically on me, so I went for it..however i do find it monotonous…music helps.

Felt great to run for 1hour! oh Yeah!!! Next up…physio exercises.

Running off some Christmas Turkey!
Not sure what has got into me this week, but i’ve been eating things that I usually avoid like the plaque…I need to be careful because being a carb addict, I don’t take things for granted in that department for one minute…doesn’t take long and you’re right back into bad habits….So after today’s cheats, which were very enjoyable to say the least….I’m wiping my slate clean from here on in…cold turkey as one would say.

-2 when I headed out the door…thinking do I really want to go out in the cold? Pushing myself out the door, I knew I would feel better. Also feeling a bit guilty in one sense of running on Christmas day, but the children were happy playing with their new gifts and others were napping….I needed to get out and run off some calories. Bit of a slow run…32 minutes for 5k…but my Ipod has left me, and I am just starting back…so all in all I can’t complain…Actually it was a great way to celebrate Christmas..like embracing a great friend, the pavement….

So I’m off to do some physio, and cook some of my own goodies so I can enjoy guilt free.

Beautiful day!! Merry Christmas

Cold but refreshing run

Christmas Eve is tomorrow…how did it sneak up on me?? It’s right there on the Calender Dec 25! It will come ready or not!

Very busy, but a needed run was on the to do list…Tonight’s run was cold, it was 1 degrees but felt colder due to the wind…..wind at my back until I got to the point and then, nice… right in the face! It sure did feel nice to run, so refreshing.… The christmas lights looked beautiful and the town was quiet during this night run….Did a little increase of 5.5. I need to really start being more dedicated on my physio exercises and more yoga. My Ipod went dead again, battery has given up the ghost…just not keeping a change any longer… This will make run #5 since I hit the road again! Feels great to be back at it

Until next time
